Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using ChessFury ("the App") operated by Alexander Klaas ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using ChessFury, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
By accessing or using ChessFury, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and agree to comply with these Terms.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ChessFury on Apple devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license does not allow you to:
ChessFury is a single-player chess game where you play against AI opponents with unique personalities and playing styles. The App includes chess gameplay against AI opponents powered by the Stockfish chess engine, AI vs AI spectator mode, a player progression system with ELO rating, game history and replay functionality, an achievement system, and multiple board and piece visual themes.
ChessFury, including its design, code, features, character profiles, artwork, and branding, is owned by Alexander Klaas and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Stockfish. The Stockfish chess engine is used under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3). Stockfish is Copyright © the Stockfish developers. Source code is available at stockfishchess.org and github.com/official-stockfish/Stockfish. A complete end-user license agreement for Stockfish is provided in our EULA.
Other open-source components:
ChessFury stores game data (player statistics, game records, achievements) locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers. For details about data collection practices, see our Privacy Policy.
CHESSFURY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that defects will be corrected; that the App will meet your specific requirements; or that ELO ratings or game analysis will be perfectly accurate.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALEXANDER KLAAS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF CHESSFURY. SINCE CHESSFURY IS A FREE APP, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED $50 USD.
You may terminate your use at any time by deleting the App. Upon deletion, all local data stored by ChessFury is removed from your device. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify ChessFury at any time without notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Belgrade, Serbia, unless applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence mandates a different forum.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of ChessFury after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
